Announcement from our school nurse:
There have been multiple, confirmed cases, of strep throat at our school. The best way to prevent illness is to wash hands frequently and to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Good nutrition (fresh fruits, veggies, protein) and getting enough rest are also key components of staying healthy and warding off any illness. Some symptoms of strep include (but are not limited to): fever (100.4 or greater) Swollen, red tonsils (may have white patches on tonsils)/severe sore throat body aches headache stomachache fatigue general feeling of unwell (malaise) If your child has a fever, diarrhea, and/or vomiting, they are required by our school policy to stay home until any or all symptoms are completely gone, without help from medication, for a full 24 hours. It is vital that they stay home if they are ill, in order to help ensure that others are not exposed. Thank you for your continued efforts to help keep our kids healthy and thriving!!!
